What is a Rent Party?

Originating in Harlem during the 1920’s, Rent Parties were events where neighbors came together to raise money for rent by throwing a big party, and they played a part in the growth of jazz culture in the early 20th-century.

Inspired by this tradition, we are hosting our own Rent Party with multiple musical acts, refreshments, and our student Jazz Combos.
